An alcohol-free cocktail designed to make social occasions ‘guilt free’ for the health-conscious has taken NZ by storm, in two short years.

Founder Paul Duncan created Elta Ego in 2022, with the goal of helping people realise they can have fun socialising without needing alcohol as a social lubricant.

He quickly set about creating cocktail options infused with local natural ingredients and adaptogens - believed to uplift mood and help you relax, making each sip low in sugar and calories.

From that realisation 22 months ago, the brand is now stocked in over 330 supermarkets, liquor stores, and restaurants across New Zealand.

Elta Ego isn't just dreaming big; it's planning big. Expansion overseas is on the cards this year, proof of the brand’s commitment to making its unique non-alcoholic cocktails a global phenomenon.

Paul says Elta Ego's future is more than expanding its line of non-alcoholic drinks. The company aims to innovate further, evolving into a lifestyle brand dedicated to overall health and wellbeing.

"Within the next two years, we want to be helping millions of people globally reduce their alcohol consumption, so they can lead healthier, happier lives and become their elta ego, their best selves," he says.

Elta Ego's commitment to quality isn't going unnoticed. Their Passionfruit Margarita, Raspberry + Yuzu G&T, and Mojito bagged silver awards at the Outstanding Food Producer Awards 2023/2024, and they have the most food awards out of any NZ alcohol-free cocktails brand. The brand is also a finalist for the 2degrees Auckland Business Awards 2024 in Excellence in Innovation and People’s Choice categories.
